Each survival craft shall be stowed: in a state of continuous readiness so that two crewmembers can carry out preparations for the embarkation and launching in less than 5 mins.
PSCO observed that the forward lashing gripe on the port side lifeboat did not release during launching. Installed gripe with pin & shackle arrangement prevented proper release and was improper according to the vessel's lifeboat maintenance plan. A requirement was issued to provide a class report stating that it has been rectified prior to departure of the vessel.
