The condition of the ship and its equipment shall be maintained to conform with the provisions of the present regulations to ensure the ship in all respects shall remain fit to proceed to sea without danger to the ship or persons on board. Pilot reported inability of vessel to move astern during tests. Make proper repairs and provide class report addressing the causative factors and corrective actions.

Resolution: Vessel provided class report. Vessel replaced defective pick up sensors on main engine, conducted tests, and were able to move ahead and astern.
