For tankers of 20000 DWT and upwards, the protection for the cargo tanks shall be achieved by a fixed inert gas system in accordance with the requirements of the Fire Safety Systems Code. The IG System shall be capable of delivering inert gas with an oxygen content of not more than 5% by volume to the cargo tanks at any required rate of flow. The crew was unable to calibrate the Inert Gas Generator O2 analyzer to verify O2% being delivered.
