Each vessel required to be fitted with an Automatic Radar Plotting Aid (ARPA) under 33CFR164.38 must be fitted with a deice to indicate speed and distance of the vessel either through the water or over the ground. On 15SEP22 Sector Jacksonville VDO received vessels ENOA that stated "Speed Log is inoperative." and subsequently issued LOD 034-22 (Inbound-Outbound) as the vessel stated they are not planning on fixing the inoperable device while in Jacksonville or until 21OCT22 as stated on their Class Report
