For the purpose of this regulation, the requirements of the code shall be treated as mandatory. Instructions and procedures to ensure safe operation of ships and protection of the environment in compliance with relevant international and flag state legislation. PSCO observed oxygen and acetylene bottles strapped and stored together on the aft open deck creating a fire hazard. Vessel has since separated oxygen and acetylene tanks adequately. A vessel equipped with ballast water tanks that operates in the waters of the United States must maintain a ballast water management plan that has been developed specifically for the vessel and that will allow those responsible for the plans implementation to understand and follow the vessel's ballast water management strategy and comply with the requirements of this subpart. 33 VFR 151.2050(g) Vessel's ballast water management plan does not include all of the necessary provisions of 33 CFR 151 Subpart D. Vessel must update its Ballast Water Management Plan to state that the vessel's ballast water management method is no discharge.
