The condition of the ship and its equipment shall be maintained to conform with the provisions of the present regulations to ensure that the ship in all respects will remain fit to proceed to sea without danger to the ship or persons on board. Both port and stbd life boat brakes did not release from their stowed position. Both life boat brakes and winches were serviced on April 09, 2018. During their annual survey ship’s crew conducted maintenance and rectified the issue prior to departure

Action required: 10 - Deficiency Rectified
Resolved 15 May 2018
Resolution: the crew adjusted the braking system and the inspection team witnessed a proper lowering of the port and stbd lifeboat to the embarkation line.
