Unless expressly provided otherwise, launching and embarkation appliances complying with the requirements of section 6.1 of the Code shall be provided for all survival craft. Structural members and all blocks, falls, padeyes, links, fastenings and all other fittings used in connection with launching equipment shall be designed wit a factor of safety on the basis of the maximum working load assigned and the ultimate strengths of the materials used for construction. During the inspection the Marine Inspector identified free-fall lifeboat winch with severely corroded/deteriorated wedge and wire cable end that secures the wire cable into the winch drum housing. Identified securing bolts and nuts mounting the hydraulic winch to the winch drum that are severely deteriorate/corroded. Identified multiple shackles that are severely corroded/deteriorated securing the wire cable to the lifeboat used for retrieving the vessel. *Complete in upcoming 2023 Drydock* 74 SOLAS (14) III/16.1, LSA Code 6.1.1.6
