All foam applicators in engine room and cargo deck areas had kinked pickup hoses obstructing the flow/suction of foam from container. "There shall be in each boiler room or at the entrance outside of the boiler room at least one portable foam applicator unit complying with the provisions of the Fire Safety Systems Code" "The Portable foam applicator unit shall be designed to withstand clogging, ambient temperature changes, vibration, humidity, shock, impact and corrosion normally encounted on ships.
