Oil fuel pipes, which, if damaged allow oil to escape from a storage, settling or daily service tank having a capacity of 500 L and above situated above the double bottom, shall be fitted with a cock or valve directly on the tank capable of being closed froma safe position outside the space concerned in the event of a fire occuring in the space in which such tanks are situated. PSCO observed emergency generators quick closing device cable for remote operation wasted and broke when operated.

During initial meeting with ship's Captain, he reported the hydraulic pump for #2 steering was inoperable. Pump overheated during transit. Vessel has technician scheduled to repair/replace pump as needed. Issued requirement for vessel to correct prior to departure from port in accordance with SOLAS 74/78, CH II-1, Reg. 29.1.
