Oil fuel pipes, which, if damaged allow oil to escape from a storage, settling or daily service tank having a capacity of 500 L and above situated above the double bottom, shall be fitted with a cock or valve directly on the tank capable of being closed froma safe position outside the space concerned in the event of a fire occuring in the space in which such tanks are situated. PSCO observed emergency generators quick closing device cable for remote operation wasted and broke when operated.
Condition: Improper/Lack of Maintenance
Action required: 10 - Deficiency Rectified

Resolution: Quick closing device cable was replaced and tested to the satisfaction of Coast Guard PSCO prior to completion of PSC exam.
