Fire detection systems should be kept in good order so as to ensure their required performance if a fire occurs. "Universal drain box" in cargo hold smoke extraction system #8 for and aft / #4 mid have cracked housings that would render the system ineffective. Required monthly checks of a system were carried out in September without discovering. 74SOLAS(20)II-2/14.2.1.1.2
