A high-expansion foam fire-extinguishing system complying with provisions of the Fire Safety Systems Code. The system shall be capable of fire extinction and manufactured and tested to the satisfaction of the Administration based on the guidlines developed by the Organization. PSCO observed corrosion build up in the foam supply line for those nozzles located above the #1 and #2 ballast pumps in the Pump Room.
Condition: Improper/Lack of Maintenance
Action required: 40 - Rectify deficiencies prior to next US port after sailing foreign

Resolution: Vessel provided class report attesting that the corrosion has been removed from the affected nozzles.

For tankers 20,000 tonnes deadweight and upwards, the protection of the cargo tanks shall be achieved by a fixed inert gas system in accordance with the requirements of the Fire Systems Safety code. PSCO observed IG sampling line ends secured with electrical tape and wire, both of which are not in accordance with approved equipment referenced in the IGS Manual. PSCO observed end properly secured with those hose clamps in accordance with the IGS Manual prior to conclusion of the exam.

Resolution: O2 sampling line was secured using approved hose clamps IAW IGG system manual prior to completion of exam.
