Muster and embarkation shall be adequately illuminated by lighting supplied from the emergency source of electrical power required by regulation II01/42 oe II-1/43 as appropriate. PSCO observed multiple emergency lights out throughout the decks. Rectify deficiency to the satisfaction of class.

The machinery...associated piping systems, and fittings shall be of a design and construction adequate for the service for which they are intended. A soft patch and welding was discovered on the main cooling seawater pump piping near the central cooler. The crew stated the repair was made due to a leak after 29JUN18 and has not made any report of the repair. 74 SOLAS (14) II-1/26.1

The machinery boilers, associated piping and fittings...shall be installed and protected as to reduce to a minimum any danger to persons on board, due regard being paid to hot surfaces and other hazards. The turbo casing leading from the generators to the exhaust is exposed without lagging, presenting a burn hazard. Additionally, a portion of grating near the boiler operating panel has been removed, presenting a falling hazard. 74 SOLAS (14) II-1/26.1
