An external audit conducted by the Flag or RO is required before the ship will be released from its detention to determine whether the ship is operating in accordance with the ISM Code. Provide a copy of the completed audit report to USCG prior to departure from port.

After any survey of the ship under paragraph 1 of this regulation has been completed, no change shall be made in the structure, equipment, systems, fittings, arangements, or material covered by the survey, without the sanction of the Administration, except the direct replacement of such equipment and fittings. PSCO found a hose that was shown in photos to temporarily connect from the discharge side of the sudge pump directly to the overboard connection, bypassing the required oily water filtering and oily water monitoring system. crew was unable to find proof that this alteration to the system was approved by their flag state or recognized organization.
