The valve (Fuel Shutoff Valve) must be operable from a safe place outside the space where the valve is installed. Remote operation of port side main diesel engine valve includes the use of a cable which passes through an opening through a deck plate. The opening is of insufficient size which may lead to binding when attempting remote activation of the valve.
