The vessel reported that the main engine was unable to start while conducting pre-departure checks. the vessel shall investigate the cause of the malfunction and prove the main engine is operational and ready for sea. 74SOLAS(14)I-I.11.1

Resolution: During test with surveyor, it was noticed that alarm of watertight door was in a very low audible volume. With the help of crew electrician, a spare alarm was installed with higher level of sound and new tests were carried out with satisfactory results.
