THE CONDITION OF THE SHIP AND ITS EQUIPMENT SHALL BE MAINTAINED TO ENSURE IT REMAINS FIT FOR SEA. WHEN PREPARING TO GET UNDERWAY FROM THE PIER, VESSEL EXPERIENCED MAIN DIESEL ENGINE CONTROL MALFUNCTION FROM THE BRIDGE. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, VESSEL IDENTIFIED MAIN ENGINE GOVERNOR AS SOURCE OF ISSUE. THE MAIN ENGINE COULD NOT BE CONTROLLED FROM THE BRIDGE ONLY LOCALLY FROM THE MAIN CONTROL STAND. MAKE REPAIRS AND PROVIDE A CLASS REPORT ADDRESSING THE CAUSATIVE FACTORS AND CORRECTIVE MEASURES.
