Shutoff valves, installed so as to close against the fuel flow, must be fitted in the fuel supply lines, one at the tank connection and one at the engine end of the fuel line to stop fuel flow when servicing accessories. Main engine did not shut off in a timely manner following closure of fuel shut off valve for the marine inspector to determine satisfactory operation of the valve. Repair or replace fuel shut off valve and demonstrate operation to satisfaction of attending marine inspector prior to vessel movement. 46CFR182.455(b)(4).

Corrected on the spot. Worn life jackets were replaced with new. 46CFR180.71(b)
