At each subsequent inspection for certification, the owner must be prepared to conduct tests and have the vessel ready for inspection of its fire protection equipment, including the following: Inspection of piping, controls, and valves, and the inspection and testing of alarms and ventilation shutdowns, for each fixed gas fire extinguishing system and detection system to determine that the system is in operating condition.Fireboy engine shutdown tested satisfactory. After activation of the override, the engine would not start. MI determined the fireboy shutdown wiring connector contains a damaged wire. 46 CFR 176.810(a)(2)

Resolution: Owner replaced all adult life jackets. Owner is selling the vessel to an operator in Puerto Rico and will not be operating anymore in the USVI. I did not require him to label the all new adult life jackets because the vessel name will be changed.
