In addition, test and inspection shall be conducted to determine the serviceability of all protective enclosures and devices fitted to aid location. PSCO observed VDR displaying system alarm 31 and 32 indicating the CF card was removed for more than 10 minutes. Master and crew stated the VDR was never opened. Request technician report with concurrence from class attesting to the proper operation of the unit. SOLAS 74(AM) V/18.8, Code 17ac

The inert gas system referred to in chapter 11/2 of the convention shall be designed, constructed and tested to the satisfaction of the Administration. PSCO observed the gas regulating valve only able to operate manually. SOLAS 74(am), 11-2/5, FSS 15, Code 50ac.

Water seal used in the inert gas systems shall be suitable for their installed purpose. PSCO observed the gasket between the water injector nozzle assembly and the scrubber shall had a minor water leak due to a failed gasket. Conduct permanent repair to satisfaction of certificate issuing authority prior to off loading cargo. FSS CODE 15 2.2.13 AC
