An immersion suit shall be constructed with waterproof materials such that: it can be unpacked and donned without assistance within 2 min. An immersion suit shall permit the person wearing it, and also wearing a lifejacket if the immersion suit is to be worn in conjunction with a lifejacket, to: perform normal duties associated with abandonment. PSCO observed insufficient donning of immersion suit during abandon ship drill. Crew member did not meet the 2 minute donning requirement due to improper sizing. 74 SOLAS (20) III/34 LSA Code 2.3.1

Resolution: Conducted def check. Witnessed 18/23 crew member don immersion suits not including: CPT, C/E, 4/E, E/E, and A/B who were occupied with ship operations. All immersion suits were donned within 2 min and all fit crew members properly.
