The life rafts on at least one side of the ship shall be served by launching appliances. As outfitted, the launching appliance for the life rafts is located on the starboard side. PSCO observed one of the two required davit launched life rafts was installed on the port side. Resolved 5 July 2017
Resolution: C/E removed/replaced all gaskets in flanges between FO high pressure pumps and injectors. Main Engine was examined to the satisfaction of attending surveyor.
Lifesaving › Rescue Boat › Propulsion Engine

Before the ship leaves port and at all times during the voyage, all life-saving appliances shall be in working order and ready for immediate use. Upon boarding the vessel, Master informed PSCO that the rescue boat was inoperable due to a faulty oil seal for the outboard engine. SOLAS III/20.2 17a
Action required: 17 - Rectify deficiencies prior to departure
Resolved 5 July 2017
Resolution: Engineering department replaced faulty oil seal to outboard engine. Operational tests were satisfactory completed in the presence of attending surveyor with no discrepencies.
