Fire fighting and appliances shall be kept in good working order and readily available for immediate use. PSCO observed smoke detector in purifier room mounted with electrical tape blocking the sensor, inhibiting proper function. Upon further inspection, determined smoke detector base broken. 74 SOLAS(20) II-2/14.2.1.2
Condition: Improper/Lack of Maintenance
Action required: 17 - Rectify deficiencies prior to departure
Resolved 8 May 2025
Resolution: Mounting base plate was found to be replaced and smoke detector properly alarms for smoke.
