0730 - Appliances (general equipment) - Fire-fighting systems and appliances shall be kept in good working order and readily available for immediate use. PSCO observed that the fuel oil quick closing valve, used for isolation on the No. 2 G/E, was blocked open using a wooden block. 74 SOLAS (14) II-2/14.2.1.2 30ac

Resolved 16 November 2016
Resolution: Received, reviewed and accepted class report from DNV GL stating the deficiency was rectified. Crew removed the gagging device and the valve was tested satisfactory.
