0710-Fire Protection. When asked to test smoke alarm, crew attempted to test using a lighter. PSCO directed crew not to use a lighter and crew began to light a cigarette. PSCO stopped crew from testing using either, and crew produced proper smoke medium and tested smoke detector satisfactorily. CITE: 74SOLAS(a) II-2/14
