All lifesaving appliances and arrangements shall comply with the applicable requirements of the Code. Except where otherwise stated, the normal equipment of every lifeboat shall consist of a food ration totaling not less than 10,000kj for each person the lifeboat is permitted to accommodate; the rations shall be kept in airtight packaging.
