Unless expressly provided otherwise, every ship shall be provided with a main steering gear and auxiliary steering gear to the satisfaction of the administration. It was reported to Sector New Orleans that the vessel had experienced steering gear irregularity. Demonstrate proper operation and readiness of the steering gear system. SOLAS 74(am) II-1/29

Resolved 25 September 2020
Resolution: Received a tech report from Mackay Marine & class report from BV. Tech boarded the vessel for repair. Tested the steering gear system in all modes and pumps and was found in good working order.

Resolution: Recieved email varifying the renewal of the self-clsoing device for the exterior airlock door.

Condition of the ship shall be maintained to conform with the provisions of the present regulations. PSCO observed the ventilation opening for the emergency generator room did not have a means of manual closure as indicated locally by posted IMO placard and on the ships fire control plan.
