THE PURPOSE OF THIS REGULATION IS TO PREVENT THE IGNTTION OF COMBUSTBLE MATERIALS OR FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS. FOR THIS PURPOSE THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS SHALL BE MET, MEANS SHALL BE POVIDED TO LIMIT THE ACCUMULATION OF FLAMMABLE VAPORS. PSCO OBSERVED SIGNIGICANT OLL ACCUMULATION UNDER ALL 3 PRIME MOVERS FOR THE SHIPS GENERATORS WITH RAGS COLLECTING OIL AND APPROXIMATELY ONE INCH OF STANDING OIL ON THE CYLINDER HEADS OF GENERATORS #1 AND #3. ADDITIONALLY A WATER BOTTLE WAS OBSERVED ON THE MAIN ENGINE COLLECTING OIL FROM A FUEL OIL DRAIN LINE. 74 SOLAS(09) II-2/4.1.2

Resolution: O-rings and fuel line fittings were replaced, re-tightening all fuel oil injection pumps, pipes, and fittings, leaks cleaned, and bottle removed.

PSCO OBSERVED (04) "A" CLASS SELF-CLOSING DOORS NOT PROPERLY CLOSING OR LATCHING ADDITIONALLY, "A" CLASS SELF-CLOSING DOOR FOUND WITH HOLD BACK ON BRIDGE WATER CLOSET. IN TOTAL, (05) SELF-CLOSING DOORS WERE FOUND UNSATISFACTORY. 74 SOLAS(09) II-2/9.4.2.1
