The protection of the cargo tanks shall be achieved by a fixed inert gas system in accordance with the requirements of the fire safety systems code. PSCO observed IGS exhaust cooling water from scrubber actively leaking from elbow. Ensure IGS exhaust cooling water is no longer actively leaking.

Resolution: Vessel crew replaced the leaking spool piece with an onboard spare. The new section of piping was pressure tested to 6 bar for twenty (20) minutes prior to installation and found free of leakage. The spare pipe was installed and found satisfactory.
