Where the emergency source of electrical power is a generator, it shall be : Started automatically upon failure of the main source of electrical power supply unless a transitional source of emergency electrical power in accordance with paragraph 3.1.3 is provided;l where the emergency generator is automatically started, it shall be automatically connected to the emergency switchboard. PSCO observed emergency generator failing to start due to quick closing valve to fuel tank being in a closed position. 74 SOLAS (24) II-1/43.3.1.2

Resolution: Received class report attesting to proper repair. The ship's Master and Chief engineer performed a crew training for Emergency generator test. An instruction was posted to verify the operational condition of the Emergency generator after the regular test.
The condition of the ship and its equipment shall be maintained to conform with the provisions of the present regulations to ensure that the ship in all respects will remain fit to proceed to sea without danger to the ship ot persons on board. PSCO observed a violent vibration and and the rudder surging during steering tests. Vibrations could be felt by PSCE's on the bridge. 74 SOLAS (24) I/11 (a)
