A portable diesel engine-driven cargo pump is being utilized within a hazardous location, and portable cargo hoses are being used for cargo transfer operations. This arrangement does not comply with the regulatory requirements for hazardous area installations and fixed cargo piping systems on tank barges carrying Grade A, B, or C cargo. *Complete prior to operating in 2026.

When installed in these locations, special precautions should be taken to ensure that the electrical equipment is not a source of ignition. Electrical equipment not rated for hazardous locations (not intrinsically safe or explosion-proof) was improperly used inside a conex box located within a hazardous area on deck. Power was supplied to this equipment via an extension cord.
