Main and auxiliary machinery essential for the propulsion and safety of the ship shall be provided with effective means for its operation and control. PSCO was notified by pilots that while at anchor in making preparations to transit to berth, vessel main engine failed to start.

The venting arrangements shall be so designed and operated as to ensure that neither pressure nor vacuum in cargo tanks shall exceed design parameters and be such as to provide for: the flow of the small volumes of vapour, air or intert gas mixtures caused by thermal variations in a cargo tank in all cases through pressure/vacuum valves. Vessel has 05 P/V valves (1S,3S,4P,5P, and SLOP P) continuously leaking vapours. 74SOLAS(20)II-2/11.6.1.1

Resolved 13 May 2024
Resolution: Vessel's crew cleaned and repaired 05 defective P/V valves and secured leaking vapours. Class representative examined P/V valves and provided class report attesting to repairs. All 05 P/V valves sat.
