The machinery, boilers and other pressure vessels, associated piping systems and fittings shall be of a design and construction adequate for the service for which they are intended. Observed four out of six fuel oil purifiers had pressure switches on sludge-line tied in the "on" position with rags. Also found two sludge-lines with missing valve hanldes.
