VESSEL REPORTED THAT IT IS USING FUEL OIL WITH SULPHUR CONTENT OF 0.5% DUE TO A MAIN ENGINE FUEL PUMP MALFUNCTION. DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS, THE VESSEL SWITCHED TO NON-COMPLIANT FUEL WITHIN EMISSION CONTROL AREA. FLAG STATE AND CLASS HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED AND A CONDITION OF CLASS WITH DUE DATE 03-NOV-2022 WAS ISSUED. Resolution: Received class report attesting that leaking was due to change over to low sulpher fuel. Surveyor witnessed crew tighten pipe connections on engines and cleaning excess fuel and oil.

Resolution: Received class report stating leakage found was a normal condition and there was no need for rectification at current time. Report also stated some grease nipples may need to be cleared to allow a freer flow of grease onto steering gear components.
