While ships are operating within an emission control area, the sulfur content used on board ship's shall not exceed 0.10% m/m on or after 1 January 2015.
PSCO's discovered that the vessel was forced to operate on high sulphur fuel within the North American emission control area due to an engine malfunction. Vessel is required to submit class report attesting to satisfactory completion of repairs prior to departure from the Sector Houston Captain of the Port Zone.
