In the event of a power failure to any one of the steering gear power units, an audible and visual alarm shall be given on the navigation bridge.
While testing steering gear alarms, PSCO observed that there were visual but no audible alarms on the bridge or ECR.

PSCO observed that the rudder would get stuck at 35° port when on the number one steering pump and would not move from that point until the number two pump was turned on.

PSCO observed multiple electrical wires penetrating electrical enclosures in the engine room that were not sealed. PSCO also observed an electrical breaker laying on the deck on the foc'sle, not in an enclosure. PSCO also observed a dead end wire with electrical tape covering it near frame 169 on the STBD side. PSCO also observed multiple spliced wires on both sides of the cargo deck covered with electrical tape. PSCO also observed a server rack that was not secured or closed in the bridge electrical room.
