No electrical equipment shall be installed in any space where flammable vapors are liablke to collect including those on board tankers, unless the administration is satisfied that such equipment is appropriately certified for safe usae in dusts, vapors, or gasses likely encountered.
The PSCO observed imporoper wiring in the pumproom ballast treatment plant, port and starboard midshipstore vent fans, tank overfill alarms, on lighting for port accomodation ladder, and starboard side of accomodation. Additionally PSCO observed non-certified light on starboard side of accomodation facing cargo area.
