Each vessel of 10,000 gross tons or more must have, in addition to the radar system under 33CFR164.35(a), a second marine radar system that operates independently of the first. Vessel reported the S-band radar not properly operating. Provide certified technician report attesting to the satisfactory operation of the malfunctioning S-band radar prior to departure.

Resolution: Received a tech report from Navtronics, Inc. Marine Electronics. The report stated the S-Band Radar was repaired, tested and found operating satisfactory. Cleared the COTP Order.
