74SOLAS(14)II-2/5.5.1.1 10c For tankers of 20,000 tonnes deadweight and upwards, the protection of the cargo tanks shall be achieved by a fixed inert gas system in accordance with the requirements of the Fire Safety Systems Code. PSCO observed the #2 discharge valve to no be operating as designed.

Resolution: Vessel's crew disassembled valve, cleaned bearings, and reinstalled valve. Valve found to be satisfactory after service.
