2550- Maintenance of ship and equipment- In meeting these requirements, the company should ensure that: inspections are held at appropriate intervals, any non-conformity is reported, with its possible cause, if known, appropriate corrective action taken, and records of these activities are maintained. PSCO observed crew not following safety management system by using a drum full of water while testing rescue boat and not the fitted cooling water device (mickey Mouse) as required; the vessel did not maneuver the rescue boat to the amount of time directed by the company in the SMS. rescue boat was ran for 4 minutes, the SMS requires the rescue boat is to be ran for 15 minutes; inspections shall be carried out weekly and a report of the inspection shall be entered in the log-book. PSCO observed the week of 15SEP19 to 21SEP19 is missing a rescue boat engine test. PSCO recommend audit of SMS section pertaining to rescue boat maintenance SOLAS (2014) IX/5 SOLAS (2014) III/20.6.2 ISM code 10.2 40a
