1671-Satelitie EPIRB 406MHZ/1.6GHZ- subject to the provisions of regulation 8.3, a satellite emergency position-indicating radio beacon shall be capable of floating free if the ship sinks and of being automatically activated when afloat. PSCO observed that the hydrostatic release attached to the EPIRB has a manufacturer’s sticker attached indicating the hydrostatic release was meant for a life raft. SOLAS 74a II-2/2.4.1 16a

0750-Fire prevention- General arrangement plans shall be permanently exhibited for the guidance ship’s officers, showing clearly for each deck the control stations, the various fire sections enclosed by “A” class division and the sections enclosed by “B” class divisions. PSCO observed that the A-60 self-closing fire door (as indicated on fire control plan) entering the engine room from the main deck was holed, and no longer self-closing. SOLAS 74a 2014 cons.
