The inert gas system referred to in Chapter 11-2 of the Convention shall be designed, constructed and tested to the satisfaction of the Administration. It shall be capable of rendering and maintaining the atmosphere of the relevant cargo tanks non-flammable. PSCO observed during IGG testing that the oxygen analyzer span gas calibration certificate was expired by two months. PSCO was unable to verify accurate calibration and performance of the IGG system.

Resolution: Vessel was not able to procure suitable Span Gas Bottle with appropriate certification for the IG Oxygen Sensor calibration. Vessel has now been issued an action code 40ac, and is able to sail to next port to recieive new span gas bottle and certificate.

0611-Lifeboat inventory-Each survivial craft shall be stowed fully equipped as required by this chapter and the Code. The normal equipment of every lifeboat shall consist of a food ration packed in permanently sealed metal containers or vacuum packed in a flexible packaging material. PSCO observed damaged packaging resulting in loss of vacuum seal on 25 food rations total in the port and starboard lifeboats. 74SOLAS(14)III/13.1.4, LSA Code 4.4.8.12, 17a.
