A Vessel equipped with ballast tanks that operates in the waters of the United States must maintain a ballast water management plan that has been developed specifically for the vessel and that will allow those responsible for the plans implementation to understand and follow the vessels ballast water management strategy and comply with the requirements of this subpart. Vessels ballast water management plan does not include ballast water management options specific to U.S. standards for ballast water discharge.
