The purpose of this regulation is to contain a fire in the space of orgin. For this purpose, the following functional requirements shall be met, the fire integrity of the divisions shall be maintained at openings and penetrations. PSCO observed 03 fire doors in galley, pilot house and on deck 05, could not seal shut therefore not wont be able to contain any possible fire. 74SOLAS09 II-2/9.1.3

Where "A" class divisions are penetrated... such penetrations shall be suitably insulated by extension of the insulation at the same level of the division. Discovered 02mm penetrations throughout the vessel from the installation of hold back hooks into "A" class boundaries. 18 penetrations were found on upper deck, 16 on "A" deck and 02 on "B" deck.
