FOR TANKERS OF 20000 DWT AND UPWARDS CONSTRUCTED ON OR AFTER 1JULY2002 BUT BEFORE 1JAN2016, THE PROTECTION OF THE CARGO TANKS SHALL BE AVCHIEVED BY A FIXED INERT GAS SYSTEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FSS CODE. THE ARRANGEMENT OF THE WATER SEAL OR EQUIVALENT DEVICES AND ITS ASSOCIATED FITTINGS SHALL BE SUCH THAT IT WILL PREVENT BACKFLOW OF VAPOR AND LIQUIDS AND WILL ENSURE THE PROPER FUNCTIONING. PSCO OBSERVED 2 X 1 CM HOLE IN THE DECK WATER SEAL DUE TO WASTEAGE.DECK WATER SEAL WAS FOUND ACTIVELY LEAKING DURING EXAM.

Resolution: Recieved class report attesting to repairs, condition of class has been issued. Class has approved temporary repair. No further action required, def has been cleared.

THE CONDITION OF THE SHIP AND ITS EQUIPMENT SHALL BE MAINTAINED TO CONFORM WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE PRESENT REGULATIONS TO ENSURE THE SHIP IN ALL RESPECTS WILL REMAIN FIT TO PROCEED WITHOUT DANGER TO THE SHIP OR PERSONS ON BOARD. AT THE TIME OF INSPECTION PSCO WAS UNABLE TO WITNESS TEST OF FIXED GAS DETECTION SYSTEM. BOTH 10% AND 30% LEL ALARMS ACTIVATED. HOWEVER, LEL PERCENT CONTINUED TO READ 0.0%.

Resolution: Recieved class report from DNV attesting to the operation of portable gas detectors. Proper gas was provided and sensors had been replaced in accordance with shoreside technical assistance.

07126 Fire Safety The machinery, boilers and other pressure vessels, associated piping systems and fitting shall be of a design and construction adequate for the service for which they are intended and shall be so installed and, protected as to reduce to a minimum and danger to persons on board, due regard being paid to moving parts, hot surface and other hazards. The design shall have regard to materials used in construction, the purpose for which the equipment is intended, the working conditions to which it will be subjected. PSCO observed a ruptured accumulator bladder on the davit system of rescue boat which hindered operational readiness of rescue boat. 74SOLAS(14)III/20.2 17ac

Resolution: Recieved, reviewed, and accepted class report from DNV-GL stating the deficiency had be rectified. Rescue boat davit accumlator was replaced.
