All lifesaving appliances and arrangements shall comply with the applicable code. The normal equipment of each lifeboat shall consist of a food ration for each person the liferaft is permitted to accomodate. These rations shall be kept in air tight packaging. PSCO found 31 airtight rations and 05 rations that were not air tight. 34 are required. 74SOLAS(20)III/34 LAS Code 4.4.8.12

For this purpose, the following functional requirements shall be met: thermal insulation at boundaries shall have due regard to the fire risk of the space and adjacent spaces. PSCO observed missing A-60 insulation along portside bunkering station doorframe. 74SOLAS II-2/9.1.2

Piping to and from sludge tanks shall have no direct connection other than the standard discharge connection. The PSCO discovered an non-standard connection welded on the discharge side of the sludge pump that was fixed with a valve and a rubber hose. Action: 17ac MARPOL Annex I Reg.12.3

Resolution: Survey report provided by class attesting to remedy of deficiency. Additional connection was blanked off and welded with piece of plate. Permanent new pipe spool was prepared and to be installed before arriving at the next port.
