The OCMI may require an inspection and testing whenever a repair or alteration is undertaken. CASTAWAY 3 suffered a mechanical loss of propulsion control of the port engine. Determine the cause of the mechanical failure, complete all necessary repairs, provide a report addressing the scope of work completed and provide any associated invoices/ receipts. Upon receipt of these documents, marine inspectors will schedule a follow-up exam to conduct sea trials on the CASTAWAY 3.

MI's observed full thickness FRP hull cracking above the waterline on the starboard stem approximately 5' vertical and 3" wide with daylight shining through. Provide repair plan to USCG and make permanent repairs.

The point and uniform loads do not need to be applied simultaneously. The bottom of the railing support bar/rail mount have fractured welds just forward of the stairs on the port and starboard side.
