11113 Life Saving Appliances - Launching and embarkation appliances complying with the requirements of section 6.1 of the LSA Code shall be provided for all survival craft. The launching mechanism shall be so arranged that it may be actuated by one person from a position on the ship's deck and from a position within the survival craft or rescue boat. PSCO observed the actuating device for the slewing mechanism slews the rescue boat inboard when activated from inside the rescue boat. Provided launching directions state that pulling the slewing mechanism will slew the rescue boat outboard. 74 SOLAS (2014) II/16.1 LSA Code 6.1.2.2 - 17ac

Resolution: Received, reviewed and accepted class report from DNV-GL stating the deficiency was rectified. Crew changed orientation of davit hydraulic pump hoses.
