The construction of doors and door frames in "A" class divisions, with means of securing them when closed, shall provide resistance to fire as well as to the passage of smoke and flame equivalent to that of the bulkheads in which the doors are situated. PSCO observed that the class "A" door leading to the steering gear room had a faulty handle mechanism preventing the door from sealing.

Resolution: Vessel conducted satisfactory repairs of class "A" fire door. Received class and technician reports confirming repair. Deficiency cleared.

The N2 bottles were found tied up to the rack, along with the caps not in place. Vessel may not have room for the exstra bottles. 46CFR147.60(b)(1)
