Independent cargo tanks and gasketed cargo pipe joints shall be electrically bonded to the hull. The vessel's cargo deck wiring and connections was found not to be bonded due to cuts, corrosion, and missing sections.

Termination and joints in all conductors shall be so made as to retain the original electrical, mechanical flame retarding, and, where necessary, fire resisting properties of the cable. Dead-End wiring was found throughout the deck area associated with the cargo pump valve indicators.

1499-Other-Piping shall be of a design and construction adequate for service and installed to minimize any danger to persons onboard. PSCO observed exhaust leaking from the emergency generator exhaust pipe. Crew repaired on the spot 74SOLAS(14) II-1/26.1
