The appliances shall be kept clean, properly maintained and stowed and shall be regularly inspected to ensure that they are safe to use. PSCO observed cracks on at least five steps on the vessel’s port side pilot ladder. 74 SOLAS (2020) V/23.2.1

PSCO observed that the vessel’s paint locker had buckets placed under the sprinkler heads in a manner that would have prevented the sprinklers from working as designed. These buckets had been inadvertently left there when the crew tested the system on 26 MAY 24. 74 SOLAS (2020) II-2 14.1.1
